AFCA proudly kicks off the 2025–2026 Taste of Harvest season with the Burundi National Competition in Bujumbura.

This year, 150 exceptional samples showcased the best of Burundi’s producers, from Kayanza’s misty highlands to Ngozi’s fertile hills and Gitega’s volcanic soils — each lot telling a unique story of the country’s diverse coffee landscape.

In partnership with the Burundi Coffee Development Office (ODECA) and International Trade Centre (ITC).

This will manifest consistently as lemon and orange, but almost always will present a ‘ripeness’ of the fruit that is very popular in the market right now. But Burundi coffee is not just about fruit. There is almost always an additional sweet profile that ranges from a light caramel to a thick molasses. When these things are all present at the same time, the result is a complex, and balanced, cup.”

The second competition of the 2025–2026 Taste of Harvest season kicks off in Kampala—featuring Uganda’s finest Robustas.

This year’s submissions feature Uganda’s finest Robustas from regions including the Kibale highlands, the fertile Lake Victoria basin, and the volcanic soils of the Mount Elgon foothills. Top-performing coffees will be featured on the Taste of Harvest Auction Platform, offering buyers a rare opportunity to experience Uganda’s world-class Robustas.
